Road Warriors

(written by Summer)

Lots and lots of miles have been put on the Webb family. A lot has happened since we last updated too. Kinda sad- because we are bloggers (well mama and daddy are) and we havent been updating this one at all. Saddness.

The last 6 mths have been pretty whirlwind for all of us. Jesse started back to college last semester. Which is good. It is taking a lot of time from our lives- but in the end we will be better off. I am also in my 4th semester of college. I had to drop the lovely language of spanish last semester. Only because the class came across as the Culture of Spain.. yet it turned into the conjugations and verbs of the spanish language. Not okay. I was like whatever and dropped it like its hot. Not something that I needed to graduate. And not willing to risk my GPA for it. Jesse got some fantastic grades for his 1st semester back after a few years. Here's hoping that this semester can pull it his GPA up to a awesome number for him to be inducted into Phi Thetta Kappa also! :) It would be something that is great on his resume and would also just make him feel good.

This past winter was also pretty hung up as I was pretty much out of work. August til January not having a job- yeah pretty hard on the pocket book. Lets not add into there that I also totalled my van.. or I should say a deer decided to total my van. Ever been hit by a deer? No? Well, it is an interesting thing. Quite the excitement. And at 5:30am not cool. And yes, I said hit BY a deer, not I hit a deer. But- now I have found a family that is pretty awesome by all considering standards and it works well with my school schedule. Jesse is STILL at the same place. Hoping that once that degree happens (pretty close to achieving) that there will be more openings. His potential is amazing and he does such great work. Ireland has been doing well in school. We had a little bit of a scuffle in the beginning. She was supposed to go into kindergarten this year- but because there was severe overflow from two other schools in the area- Ireland was pushed out into Pre-K again. Why you ask? You know that little thing with the birthday and the school system? yeah. That will get you every time. So. She will do K this year coming and then she will be tested again in 3rd grade to see if she can bump. But- really right now, I look at it as she is refining her skills for entering into all day school. That will be an adventure.

In the last couple months of the new year, we have put some miles on my new to me van. (bought it off my MIL *smile*). First part of the year, we went to Williamsburg to meet up with good friends of ours (and god parents to Ireland). They had a timeshare that they were checking out- and invited us along. The time share was pretty awesome sans the fuses that required some TLC. We went to Williamsburg the next day after arriving- it was cold as a witches.. yeah well.. but it was fun. About 2 mths later we surprised Ireland with a trip to the Baltimore aquarium. It was a complete surprise attack. We told her we were going somewhere, but didnt let her know the exact location until we arrived. She had a good day. We also got to walk around inner harbor for a bit. Got some smoothies- which I traded my banana (which is one of my favs) smoothie for Jesse's strawberry (so generic..). Kinda sad- because banana is so much better- but not at this place. Ah well. It was a good day either way.

Then just this last weekend we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg VA. This has become a family favorite after we went last August with my parents. This time however, we went with our other set of good friends Nikki and Frankie. Not only did we get to go to Great Wolf with good friends, but they complimentary upgraded our room to a Loft room. It was beast! (check out the rooms on greatwolflodge.com to see what I speak of). We were there Friday/Saturday night and checked out Sunday. We have already decided to make this an annual trip. We have added some excursions to the list too. It is really not a bad deal when you look at everything that is included. We got the paw pass added to our stay and all of us utilized the 10% off with that little plastic paw.

I am sure we have more miles to cover in the coming months. Who knows what will happen. But I do know this... we will update more. Promise.

Ps. Check out the video before this post.. pretty snazzy work there.
