This blog is the cooperative of wife/husband team Summer and Jesse. I'm Jesse, and last night the two of us shot our first video blog. Now all I have to do is edit and post. That will be tonight's job but since I'm here, I'll finish a thought I had while recording said vlog.
We filmed two vlogs, the first was short lived and deleted because it was just horrid. I was hoping to keep it for the DVD release but Summer had me get rid of it. In it we mention Hollywood rebooting and mention J. J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot. I then bit my tongue because bringing up Abrams' name brings us Lost, in my company, and that always leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't want to go on a rant about the finale.
Now, don't get me wrong: I loved the finale of Lost. The show ended like it should have - with the end of a story - but so many people complained it wasn't enough and I say to them "get over yourselves."
Writers tell a story, their story, and if they tell it in a way you don't like, go find something else. If you didn't like Lost's ending, go watch Heroes... oh.. wait... yeah... canceled... sorry about that...
What I'm saying is that we all have stories to tell and we have the right to tell them. The sad/funny part is, if Disney (who owns the rights to Lost) decide to do spin off comics and books, yeap, this Lost Sheep will be in line buying it. Complete series on DVD? Yeap, I'm all in! Lost viewing parties? Yeah, I'll probably have them. Lost Fan Fiction? I don't think anything I could write could live up to what was Lost's writing team but don't count me out of that one just yet.
